Help and FAQ
Answers to the questions people actually ask. If yours isn't here, a person will answer it.
Getting started
Is LankFit only for triathletes?
It is built for triathletes, and it works just as well if you only run, ride or swim. Tell it what you train and every score, chart, record and race follows. Sessions in your other sports can still count towards your fatigue, so your freshness stays honest, or you can leave them out.
Why do you take R5 when I start the trial?
It checks the card is real. It is refunded straight away, usually within a few business days. It is not a charge and nothing else is taken until the trial ends.
What does the readiness score mean?
With a goal time set, it is how on pace you are for that goal: the projected finish compared with the goal, minus any illness or injury. Without a goal it compares your form with your own best.
What does Right call mean on a session?
After a new session syncs, LankFit compares your readiness, fatigue and form before and after it, and says whether it was a right call, fine, too much or the wrong call, with the reason. It only reviews today's new sessions.
I'm a coach. How do my athletes join?
Tell us about your squad on the For coaches page. We agree terms, then you invite each athlete with a personal link. Athletes you cover pay nothing.
How do I create an account?
Click Get started and follow the three-step set-up: profile, Strava, then Garmin (optional).
What do I need?
A Strava account with your activities. Garmin is optional.
How long does the first sync take?
It depends on how much history you have. It starts the moment you connect and runs in the background while you finish setting up, with a progress bar showing how far it has got.
Can I use LankFit if I only run or only ride?
Yes. Choose your disciplines in your profile and the other views stay out of the way.
Strava and Garmin
Does LankFit post to Strava?
No. The connection is read-only.
What comes from Garmin?
Sleep, HRV, weight and VO2max.
How do I disconnect Strava or Garmin?
Settings, Connections, Disconnect. Syncing stops immediately.
An activity is missing. What now?
New activities come in by themselves about every hour. If you can't wait, check it's visible on Strava, then tap Sync on your dashboard. If it is still missing, contact support.
Races and results
How does the Results finder work?
It searches FinishTime and PeakTiming for races on your calendar, matches by date and name, and shows you what would change so you can confirm or discard.
My race's timing provider isn't supported.
Enter the result by hand from the race page. It takes about a minute.
Where do T1 and T2 suggestions come from?
From the gaps between your Strava timestamps. They're suggestions until you confirm them.
Will a result ever overwrite my data without asking?
No. We show you every change first, and nothing saves until you confirm.
Goals
How are leg targets calculated?
From your recent efforts, weighted towards the most recent weeks.
Can I set different goals for different races?
Yes. Each race can carry its own goal time.
Why is my projected time slower than my PB?
Projections use recent efforts. Your PB might be from a fitter season.
Health events
What happens when I stop training for a few days?
After two or more quiet days, LankFit flags the gap on your dashboard and asks: rest, illness or injury? It shows the sessions either side for context.
What is the illness hint?
If your last session before a gap ran about 8% above your 90-day heart-rate baseline, LankFit mentions it. It is a hint, never a diagnosis.
Do I have to log taper and recovery?
No. For every confirmed race, a taper before and recovery after are added for you, sized to the distance: about 12 days of taper and 7 of recovery for a 70.3, 18 and 14 for a full distance.
Is this medical advice?
No. LankFit doesn’t diagnose anything. It notices gaps and unusual heart rates, and you decide what they mean.
Billing
How much does LankFit cost?
R99 a month, or R990 a year, after a free 30-day trial.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: 30 days, with every feature open. You add a card to start, we check it with a R5 charge we refund straight away, and nothing is billed until the trial ends. We email you two days before. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
How do I cancel?
From Settings, Billing, in two clicks. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, or until the end of your free trial.
Do you refund?
Yes. Any charge can be refunded in full within 14 days of it being taken. After that you keep access to the end of the period you paid for. See the refund policy.
Privacy and data
Who can see my data?
Only you. Each athlete's data is stored separately.
What does Ask send to an AI provider?
Only the context needed to answer your question, sent to Anthropic’s Claude, which writes the reply. Nothing is sent unless you ask.
How do I delete my account?
From Settings, Profile, Your data, where you can also download everything first. Your data is then deleted as described in the privacy policy.
Is my data backed up?
Yes, daily.
